Exclusive Scoop Straight From Her Stylist!
Miranda Lambert’s been jetting around the country for her Platinum Tour, and now she’s got a new hairdo to match her album title (not to mention her album sales!).

Debuting her super blonde locks on her Instagram account Thursday, the newly single country singer captioned the photo with a line from Track 1 on her Platinum album: “What doesn’t kill you only makes you blonder” Thanks @leewright_hairstylist and @stylehousesalon for the new do! #platinum #blondeshavemorefun”
Lambert, who announced her split from Blake Shelton last month, brightened up her continually shorter bob with a bright blonde shade that her stylist Lee Wright from Nashville’s Style House Salon says “turned out awesome.”
“She had been going with a darker blonde the last six months or so, closer to her natural color,” Wright says. “She sat down in the chair yesterday and we both said, ‘Let’s go really blonde again.’ She loved it — I spun her around, like, ‘You’re back!'”

Though most people tend to go darker in the fall, Wright says, “It’s Miranda. She doesn’t follow trends!” But she may be setting them with her new platinum shade, which Wright achieved by doing “really heavy highlighting just to bring her up, and I adjusted her base up a level just to blend it all,” he says, adding that the key products were L’Oréal Professionel for color and Olaplex to lighten it all up. “Miranda has fine hair, so it helps maintain the integrity of the hair,” he explains. “It feels soft and doesn’t feel like it has anything done to it.”
The only thing that didn’t change? The cut itself. “We’re just trying to stay around this of swingy, layered blunt bob because it’s real versatile,” Wright says. “She can smooth it down and make it really sleek or she can put texture sprays in it and just make it look more rock ‘n’ roll.” (His fave for her? Shu Uemura Liquid Fabric — “you can just spray it on towel-dried hair for the beachy look”).
And don’t look for her to be rocking some dramatic ombré roots anytime soon — the star’s a Southern blonde and proud of it. “She’s naturally blonde, so to go really bright like that is not like someone brunette trying to stay like that,” he explains. “The haircut, with that kind of length, it’s not like you have to get it cut every six weeks. If it grows, it doesn’t look that much different. It’s easy for her and she looks great!”
